Miles Kane.

Book #1: Northanger Abbey
Beauxbatons
sucre_bebe
Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen

Northanger Abbey was an excellent way to start off the new year. An entertaining read despite being somewhat predictable. I loved the mocking of gothic novels tucked into the story and the interesting characters other than just the main character, Catherine. An excellent read and my favorite of Austen's so far (I have now read all but Persuasion and Mansfield Park, something on my to-do list for this year). I would recommend this book to anyone.

Next up, Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy

50 Book Challenge
Beauxbatons
sucre_bebe
I have taken on the 50bookchallenge. As the name implies I am aiming to read 50 books in one year. But I am going to add a few other rules (some of which will overlap, in fact they will probably all overlap with number one):
  1. Half of them need to be classics (25 books)
  2. A tenth of them need to be originally written in something other than English (5 books)
  3. A tenth of them need to be plays (5 books)
  4. A fifth of them need to be written by women (10 books)
My first books will be:
  • Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen
  • Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy
  • Hamlet by William Shakespeare

About once a month I will give a post to update where I am relating to how many of the requirements I have filled
